Welcome to the CAT Travel Blog

Posted by Your Friends at The CAT on May 11th, 2009

Welcome to forty knots of fast, convenient travel information.

The CAT FerryNow before we go into the formalities of introducing our newest feature, we’d like to share some travel tidbits that you might not have been aware of.

  • There is such a thing as lobster ice cream in Bar Harbor, Maine
  • There is life at 4:30 in the morning. It’s at the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard, waiting to see the first sunrise in the United States.
  • Forget trying to make the English Royal Guards laugh. Save your money. Visit the Halifax Citadel and see the 78th Highlanders instead.
  • Horror novelist Stephen King’s Victorian-style mansion is located in Bangor, Maine
  • The Canadians have a lot to thank Maine for. The state is the proud inventor of the donut hole machine, earmuffs and the snow plow.

And now to properly introduce our new Travel Blog. Since Canada’s East Coast and the state of Maine are among the top vacation destinations in the world and the CAT Ferry is one of the World’s Super Ships, a travel blog seemed like the next step.

A dubious amount of Atlantic Canada and Maine travel information is now available at your fingertips, including details on popular attractions, ideas on what to do during your vacation and of course, awesome vacation packages to Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador.

Like everything so far? There’s a lot more where that came from, so throw the CAT Ferry Travel Blog in your ‘favourites’ list and check back for recent postings!

See you on the CAT.

I have always loved cruise ships, but after my travel on the Fast CAT Ferry, I can hardly describe the way I feel about this new method of traveling the high seas!

She’s gentle on take off, yet fast and sleek on her run across the Gulf of Maine!

My very first round trip sold me forever on The Fast CAT Ferry!!

The CAT is clean, modern, and the best way to travel between Maine and Nova Scotia!

I have driven, and flown to Nova Scotia before, but taking The CAT Ferry was a great way to spend my precious time.
I enjoyed the food and drinks on board, had a wonderful time playing in the Casino, and talk about “Whale Watching”,..I saw more Dolphins and Whales on my crossing than on any Whale Watch boat!

Making friends on this cruise was even easier than I thought, there were people playing card games and socializing in the salon areas, so when I thought that traveling alone was going to be boring, gosh was I wrong!

The crew on board was very helpful, safety first was always part of the experience.
The gift shop was quaint and had so many bargains that I could bring back and share my memories with more people than I thought I could afford!!

The seating area in the bow of The CAT was so cool, there was a wide screen television and the view from the wrap around windows was futuristic!!

I purchased a CAT NAP package and I stayed in a comfortable hotel on the harbor, and in the late morning I was dinning and watched The CAT cruising back to the dock and the sight of her coming into Port was mesmerizing!

I would recommend this experience to anyone!

    “People,..This CAT is no dog!!”
